Baltic Baby Amber
This is the most common type of amber in the world, with approximately 85% of the worlds amber coming from here. Baltic amber is usually a bright yellow or honey colour. Baltic amber is spread over a large part of northern Europe, and the north sea: Kaliningrad Oblast, (formerly Koningsberg in Prussia now in the Russian Federation) contains the largest deposits. Some of the other countries in Europe where amber is found are: Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark, Switzerland, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, Holland, Austria, France, and Italy. In England amber can be found washed up in a number of different locations on the east coast beaches from the north sea : In Norfolk at Cromer, In Suffolk at Great Yarmouth, Southwold, Aldeburgh, and Felixstowe. In Essex at Walton-on-the-Naze. In Yorkshire amber can be found washed up on various beaches.
